Trip to Yamanakako

Today we packed up and drove to Yamanakako which is near Mount Fuji. On the trip Totoro (the name of our car) warned me to take a break after driving 2 hours. I was so insulted. The longest trip I’ve done within the last year, with only stopping for gas and caffeine, was 27 hours (Florida to Idaho). Two hours is just getting started.

I’m amazed at how many tunnels and bridges there are. Many are much longer than anything I’ve driven through in Canada. 

Ashikaga Flower Park

Along the way we stopped off at Ashikaga Flower Park to smell the roses.

This is the wisteria flower. There weren't many blossoms when we were there in July, but I was able to find this one.

And they even make it into ice cream.
