Day 17 - Nara - July 11

The rumors are true. There are deer everywhere in Nara.

They are pretty feisty. I was luck to make it out alive.

New best friend (because unlike the others he didn't try to eat me).

My Japanese is a bit rusty but from what I can tell it's an instructional poster to teach the deer some self defense against overly eager humans. I like how the little girl is in fetal position.  Classic move.

Todaiji Temple

Size might not be everything but if it were this Budda has it all. It is huge! The pictures don't do it justice as I'm using a wide angle to fit it in which makes it look smaller.

It was so hot that my phone kept shutting down. I needed to put it in low power mode and rest it on a frozen drink so it would eventually turn on again.

Nara National Museum Nara Buddhist Sculpture Hall

Spent some time in a museum. 

The first museum my wife absolutely loved! She didn’t look at the exhibits, it just had really good AC.
