Day 4 - Shopping & Temples - Sat Jun 28

• Still jetlagged. I gave up sleeping at around 2:30 am so it made for a pretty long day.

• 
  We started our day in Asakusa. 

• 
  Visited the Senso-ji Temple and browsed the traditional snacks and souvenirs along Nakamise Shopping Street. 

• 
  In the afternoon we took the train 2 stops and went to Akihabara Electric Town until evening.

• This area has lots of electronics, hobby shops and anime/manga. We went to a few anime shops that were 7 stories high. It sounds like a lot but many of the stores were rather skinny, almost apartment sized and the aisle was so narrow to pass by someone you both needed to hug one side and take off your backpacks.

• It was super crowded everywhere. Crossing the street there was an ocean of people to navigate through. I’m guessing because there are so many tourists from so many places no one follows the “stay on your left” rule. 

• 
  Vending machines are everywhere. My kids stopped at pretty much everyone. They use the IC cards (transit) and I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids get left behind on our next train trip because they've spent all their money. 

• At the end of the day our feet were all pretty sore.

• Free WiFi isn't that common. Good thing I got an eSim for my phone.

• There aren't any public garbage cans, and they are extremely rare, not even near the trains.  We ended up with a lot because of all the street food and 7/11 stops. In one case we brought it back to the vendor that sold it to us.

• Drinking fountains and places to refill your water are few and in-between.

• Bring your passport. We didn’t think we needed it. You don’t need to pay the 10% tax if you have it in some places.

• There is nowhere to sit. The one bench we did manage to find a sign on it that essentially said "no loitering".

• I was able to use my credit card pretty much everywhere, except the vending machines which use IC Cards. My boy was even more sad now that he lost his.
