Day 24 - Ikurado Cave - July 18

Ikurado Cave

On the drive to Kyoto we stopped by Ikurado Cave. We were the only ones there so we got to explore on our own. It's a very scenic area.

Saw this little roller bug. If he feels threatened he rolls into a tight little ball. So I may have had to threaten him a little for this picture...

Washrooms

I've seen this in a bunch of times in Japan. The urinal's in the washroom will be right by the entrance to the washroom. Another thing I noticed is they'll have female washroom attendants and cleaners in the boys room. So you can't afford to be to shy when you really need to go.

My son really didn't like that many of the washrooms we encountered didn't have any soap. So bring your own just in case.

Truck Stops

Truck stop on the expressway had great food and very reasonable prices. One of the advantages to having a car.

You get proper plates and bowls. Nothing disposable.

Hand washing stations.

You need to parallel park at the truck stops. But it is reversed from how it is in north America, so you need back in and the spaces are tight. I saw this quite frequently.
