Day 28 - Hakone Ropeway & Museum - July 22

Hakone Ropeway

Along the ropeway you can see steam coming out of the old volcano and the whole place smells like rotten eggs from all the sulfur. To capitalize on this they sell black eggs on the top that have allegedly been cooked by the steam and it will add 10 years to your life if you eat them.

I settled for egg ice cream instead of the black eggs.

Hakone Open Air Museum

Many of the exhibits are outdoors. It was so hot that the wife and kids spent the most time at the few indoor exhibits.

Final Pack

I bought a hand scale this time around so we don’t get any more surprises at the airport. Everything was measured to ensure nothing went over. However my wife tells me this time around they through it all on the scale at the same time so if one was a little over and another under it didn't matter. Why didn't they let us do this in Calgary! Ugh.
